After https://steem-engine.com/ has started it is now a matter of 100 Steem and a few clicks to create your own token based on a side chain of Steem. There are several advantages and contras using https://steem-engine.com, but it seems that especially for some users the easy access to create tokens with Steem brought some interesting projects out of it. Now several projects would be interesting to mention and introduce to a wider audience (as they are currently targeted mainly for a specific group), but this time it would be the JJM token. (mainly publishing articles in Korean under @jjm13)

1. History and explanation of JJM

a. About the Coin

• Name: JJM Coin (derivated from Jjangjjangman)
• Created: 9th March 2019
• First Price : 1 JJM = 0.01 STEEM
• No ICO
• Total Supply: 300 M (No Inflation, Max Supply)
• Issuer: @virus707
• Explanation: Because there was no JJM tag
• About the Token: Not defined token economy and will be discussed with token holders.


b. Background of founder

@virus707 is a well known and respected user within the #KR community. Educating the KR community about different tokens and coins, virus707 also created the Korean tag “Jjangjjangman”, which supported new KR Steemians with an upvote (from his personal Steem Power of about 200K SP) without any special conditions, except that it was own content in Korean from a KR community member. The tag was running until March 2019 and has now been stopped, as @virus707 needed the Steempower to run the JJM token.

After the 26th of March 2019, in total 434K Steem Power will be available to run the JJM project. The Steem Power available is not delegated (only 1K Steem Power from another account) but owned and bought by virus707 for this project.

On an interview last year (in Korean), virus707 mentioned already that there was an SMT project planned, as soon it would be available, but it seems that virus707 decided to move on with Steem-engine, as it is available right now.

e. JJM token economy

About 98% of the JJM token economy and how it will be pushed into the right direction are still open and “TBD” with the JJM token holders. A few points that are already in progress (or had been processed) are summarized below. To make it easy to understand, it is kind of a fund, that invests and works with other Steem based projects to create value and dividends for the JJM token holders.

• Dividends: based on the portion (%) of JJM the account @jjm13 is gathering the dividend amount. The dividend amount is coming from the @virus707 account. In general, all kind of incomes for the virus707 account is included for dividends excluding a currently not fixed amount as profit for the JJM token issuer, which can also be used to power up the virus707 account with Steem power.
• The account @virus707 is invested per delegation or direct token investment in @magic-dice, @stablewon and is looking for additional cooperations that could increase the usability of Steem and Steem based Dapps and also the income for JJM.
• The total amount of the current dividends level can be checked under https://steemit.com/@jjm13/transfers
• The timing of transferring the dividends to JJM holders is not based on a specific cycle and will be announced very shortly before it happens to avoid an unneeded market pump of JJM tokens.
• A part of the income (dividends) will be used to buy JJM tokens on the market and these JJM tokens can be also used as dividends.

Future plans

There are different strategies under discussion and I would like to list a few of them that could be realized.

• Rebirth of JJM tag: when using the JJM tag a JJM token holder can get voting from the virus707 account. Voting power would/could match to the % of holding JJM tokens.
• Starting a JJM @steemmonsters tournament with JJM tokens not only for the winners but also for the analyst of the tournament (ex. analyzing the players, their strategy, etc.) and running an additional JJM bounty for watchers of the tournament who can guess the winner. This would make a Steemmonsters tournament much more interesting, not only for the players but also for people watching the tournament. (First step into esports) - related article in Korean from virus707 Additionally, it would help also to lower the entry barrier for Steemmonsters.
• Co-working with Dapps based on gaming, service, etc.

2. Personal thoughts

In the end, a currency is always based on trust. It is really interesting to see a new token evolving that is actually only based on trust. Current JJM holders are giving trust into a still uncertain project, seeing only the founder and project head @virus707. Based on the vision from virus707, international investors are also welcomed to this project
A few points as data.

• @virus707 SP: about 440K, an 100% upvote would be about 11.2STU at the moment.
• If virus707 would buy with the whole curation income (which would be about 192STU $/week) JJM tokens, that would be about 7.7K JJM per week based on the current market price theoretically available for dividends.
• virus707 is looking for a developer who can help to implement different visions that would need to be realized for JJM.

TL;DR JJM is a token purely based on the trust of a single user, that @virus707 will be able to make a working token economy.

So, JJM is currently at state 0 and keeping one of the highest volumes at https://steem-engine.com/ with realistic order volumes. It will be very interesting to follow the path of JJM and see how the project lead and the JJM holders will interact and develop the token community.

As we have the first IEO for a Steem and SMT based project, it will be interesting what kind of mechanism has been implemented to protect the value of HUNT tokens.

1. Private Sale and Advisory Qty.

Unfortunately, it is not sure that they actually "advise" or are only selling their name value and getting Tokens in return. Additionally, private sales are a mechanism to give investors access to tokens with huge discounts. Together, these groups are one of the risks to dumb their token when a token get listed on an exchange. As an example, at the beginning of [Tron](https://tron.network/), there was a [FUD alert](https://theripplecryptocurrency.com/tron-fud-alert/) because a single account sold 11.2 Billion Tron tokens. For Tron, it was at the end a market maker trying to increase the liquidity. Having big quantities distributed to investors who are looking for really fast profit is difficult to handle when trying to protect the value of your token.

For Steemhunt there are almost no tokens distributed for this kind of cases so it will have no direct effect on the token price.

2. Minimize the effect of Timing

It is also related to the fact that at the beginning a lot of projects didn't have a working product but only a whitepaper. Between this time the risk for the investors participating at an ICO (IEO) is getting higher, as the possibility for liquidity is limited. Also, it can (it had happened) that a project does not work out at all and a token does not get listed at an exchange nor shows a working product. Steemhunt's strategy is that their IEO is going to have a minimum delay (within a month) between the IEO and the listing at the first exchange.

3. Realistic Market Cap

This is due to the changing market situation in between of place 230-250 based on @coingecko and at place 250 based on coinmarketcap.com. On the other side, Steemhunt is ranked between place 9th~21th at [StateOfTheDapps](https://www.stateofthedapps.com/rankings), which gives it enough room to move itself up in market capitalization volume.

4. Higher bounty but also higher loyalty from hunters

As first mover Steemhunt decided to airdrop 50% of their tokens and use it as accelerator to increase their userbase. This has of course also a direct impact on the token distribution. But we have to look into details how this tokens have been distributed.


Compared to other projects, where it is mostly required to join a telegram channel or gathering enough referrals, Steemhunt concentrated to distribute the tokens to users who contributed to establish and build up the community. This is increasing the loyalty of Hunt token holders to Steemhunt.

• Sponsors : Without sponsors there would be no rewarding directly possible until SMT had been implemented correctly. Most of the sponsors are highly interested in the success of Steemhunt as a project, not only for Steemhunt but also for Steem. This comes with the specific situation that a delegation of Steem brings to the Steemhunt environment, as successful Steem based projects will help to increase the value not only for the project but also for Steem.
• SP Holders: This part was essential to increase the attention for Hunt tokens and also the number of holders. This airdrop has been completed already in the middle of last year.
• Contributors (promotion and voting), Daily activity: reward for active users at Steemhunt
• Social Shares: Social contributors getting the message on a daily base out to increase the userbase outside of Steem
• Role contributors: community-based roles for daily operations.

With a total 13% of the Qty distributed at the moment, the bounty qty is indeed not small, but Steemhunt had also implemented a few measurements to protect the value for all Hunt token holders.

a. Abusing

All token holders who got their tokens with abusing methods have been canceled last October 2018. Also hunters who are blacklisted (due to different abusings) don’t get any tokens distributed.

b. Staking

To be able to further use Steemhunt and get rewarded it is crucial to have enough Hunt tokens kept in your current off-chain wallet. Based on your stake your User Score is directly effected. This means that if you have more Hunt tokens, it is better to keep them to have higher rewards and gain more Hunt tokens.

c. Withdraw limits

A lot of small token holders or a few whales could effect the market with dumps. To avoid these effects there is in the moment a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 10000 tokens per day withdraw limit from your off-chain Hunt wallet implemented. (Withdraw is not opened yet) As far as I am informed this can change based on the market situation.

In the end, the market will decide what the right price for a token is and nobody is able to predict a number. But we can see here, that Steemhunt has prepared a lot to avoid typical errors that could affect the value of their token in a negative way.

Steemhunt has announced that they are going to gradually decrease the airdropped tokens. Let’s dive into details.

1. Gradual Decreases in HUNT Token

In total 30% of the announced 50% airdrop has been distributed which sums up to 76 Million HUNT tokens in the hand of about 14K accounts. Coins based on Ethereum can be tracked how many different addresses are available and as an example, Zilliqa is distributed to 40K different addresses.

Initiated in May 2018 the airdrop is currently running for about 8 months and due to the estimated delay of SMT, projects based on SMT need to adjust their plans. The first plan was to run the airdrop for a maximum of a year but under the current circumstances Steemhunt has decided not to wait too long but start already part of implementations. The decrease of airdropped HUNT tokens is a vital portion of this plan.

• Airdrops to Steem Power holders (1:1 airdrop, claim basis, closed with 3.63% distribution for 6,373 SP holders)
• Token swaps for Steem delegations (90,000 tokens per day, 4.52% are distributed)
• Voting contributors (50,000 tokens per day, 2.03% are distributed)
• Role and promotion contributions, and daily activity participants (4.85% are distributed)

When we see the current airdrop distribution, delegation (sponsors) token swap had been the biggest part with 23 Million HUNT tokens distributed.


Steemhunt decided to reduce the total amount of daily distributed HUNT tokens by up to 30% per category and week. Theoretically, this could mean that the current daily airdrop of 50K HUNT tokens for voting contribution could change to 1K per day in about 12 weeks.


I personally don’t think that the airdrop amount will be reduced that dramatically, as Steemhunt has announced that they will adopt the ratio based on the HUNT token price per $STU, which should meet the target listing price.

a. Inflation Pool

As SMT is not going to start with the inflation function Steemhunt is going to reserve part of the airdrop volume to cover the inflation function for HUNT tokens.

we should maintain our buffers to use as an inflation pool with ERC20 tokens if the SMT launch is delayed too much.

b. Protection of value

A 50% airdrop was at the beginning of Steemhunt something totally new to the market and a new way to be able to finance the user growth without any ICO. On the other side, bigger amounts of airdrop volumes do have an impact on price when listing a coin, not on a DEX but a centralized exchange. As the announced IEO for HUNT tokens is coming closer, Steemhunt decided to reallocate the amount of HUNT airdrops (If SMT had been launched as planned it would have been different) to be able to protect the value of HUNT tokens and also the 14K HUNT token holders.

c. Marketing Fund

Reviewhunt is an important part to be able to create a revenue stream for Steemhunt. On the other hand, B2B Sales pitching for makers and brands will take time to flourish and in between it is needed that, as an example, Steemhunt steps in and create bounties for different projects. This would be similar to @steemmonsters, where currently a lot of tournaments are sponsored at the moment from Steemmonsters themselves. As soon as the user base and recognition of the service (or game in case of Steemmonsters) is big enough, review bounties would be covered from brands and makers. Steemhunt will need HUNT tokens for this kind of marketing activities.

3. Conclusion

As a project that bet on Steem and SMT as a base, it is not easy to adapt to delays that can not be estimated. The current decision to reallocate part of the HUNT tokens is the right move to be able to act if SMT is going to take much longer than estimated. Steemhunt is preparing a potential start of planned pillars (Reviewhunt and Ideahunt) without a proper working SMT and we should have a close eye on both the development of SMT and the adaptation from Steemhunt.

As announced from Steemhunt, the team is currently preparing an IEO for the HUNT tokens and also started a survey for Steemians to ask about the price opinion for HUNT tokens. As the IEO is coming closer, I would like to summarize the current options to join the airdrop for Steemhunt HUNT tokens.

1. User Score

An important part that needs to be mentioned regarding the airdrop for Steemhunt is, that a lot of airdrops are influenced by the user score of Steemhunt. It means in some categories it is necessary to have a higher user score at Steemhunt to gain more HUNT tokens.

2. HUNT tokens Airdrop Category

 You can find an overview on the PC version of the [wallet from Steemhunt](https://steemhunt.com/wallet?ref=jayplayco) what the categories are for HUNT tokens airdrop. Some airdrops are very specific or do need specific tasks or conditions, so the following order is based on my personal opinion on how easy it would be accessible for Steemians.

a. Delegation (90K per day)

The easiest part to gain HUNT tokens is to delegate Steem Power to the account @steemhunt. Sponsor will get a share based on their delegation of 90K HUNT tokens per day. A weekly report shows how much tokens a sponsor is getting per week. Based on the latest sponsor report from Steemhunt 100SP gets about 908 HUNT tokens per week. The airdrop based on delegations is not influenced by the User score.

b. Hunting Post Voters (40K per day)

Another easy way to gain HUNT tokens is to go to Steemhunt, log in and upvote the hunts you like. Based on your upvoting power (based on your SP) and weight, HUNT tokens will be allocated for your upvotes. Please make sure that you upvote products from the “Today” tab, as these are the hunts that are considered for the post voting airdrop. The airdrop based on upvoting hunting posts is not influenced by the User score.

c. Comment Upvotes - 10K per day

Similar to the Hunting Post Voters airdrop, comments on “Today” tab hunts are also considered for a separate budget of HUNT token airdrop. When you upvote comments from other hunters under a hunt you think are good, this will also be rewarded with HUNT tokens. The airdrop based on upvoting hunting posts comments is not influenced by the User score.

d. Boost Hunt

Boost Hunt is a function that enables to switch your rewards from your posted hunts into HUNT tokens. Normally you would receive your reward in STU (Steem, SBD and Steempower) but the principle behind Boost hunt is that the hunter is setting the beneficiary 100% to Steemhunt and Steemhunt is rewarding the STU based on a daily changing price in HUNT tokens.

e. Steemhunt Chrome Extension - max 50 HUNT tokens per day/user

You can install a Chrome browser extension, which you can download here. On the upper right side you will find a place where you can input your Steem account and after that whenever you open a new tab you will get based on your user score a fixed amount of HUNT tokens.

f. Shuffle Button Lottery

Steemhunt is a ranking board and the hunts are shown based on their upvoted ranking. To give undervalued hunts a better chance for visibility the random button was introduced and also a gamification factor with an airdrop has been implemented.

To further promote the usage of the random shuffle button, we decided to divide the lottery time into 4 slots per day - 0-6 | 6-12 | 12-18 | 18-24 - based on KST (Korean Standard Timezone), and now you can win between 1 to 10 HUNT tokens once every 6 hours period by clicking the shuffle button on the “Today” tab. Theoretically, you can earn a maximum of 40 HUNT tokens per day.

g. Social Airdrop - 90K per day


Along with the delegation airdrop, the social airdrop is the biggest portion of all Steemhunt airdrops. The reason for this strategic move is to give social media influencers the chance to generate traffic from outside of the Steem community and earn a big portion of the airdrop.

• How to participate
  We distribute 90,000 tokens per day. You can click the SHARE button on the hunting post or on your profile tab, and share to any other social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. HUNT tokens will be assigned based on the share of the total daily traffic generated from all the shared posts via the social channels. To calculate your portion for the reward, your shared count will turn into an effective count. The two main factors to calculate the effective count are the date you shared the hunting post and your hunter level.
  The first date you’ve shared the post will have the highest effective count and will keep decreasing day by day.

An important part is that social airdrop is also coupled with the user score. So hunters will gain more tokens from the social share airdrops based on their user score and by applying the user score weights on the effective counts.

For anybody who is good at spreading news and gaining followers outside of the Steem economy, this is a good opportunity to increase the wealth in their Steemhunt wallet.

h. Twitter bounty

Since a few weeks, @MTimeTraveller has joined as Social Media Manager and is driving the social media activities at Steemhunt with great success. One of his initiatives is to increase the activities on Twitter. Now following Steemhunts Twitter account and retweeting the tweets are going to be rewarded with HUNT tokens. Each action (following and retweeting) needs to be confirmed in a separate Google document.

• Moderator: moderates and verify the daily hunts based on the posting guideline.
• Social Media Manager: responsible to increase the awareness of Steemhunt outside the Steem economy in different social media channels.
• Community manager: handles the community at Discord.

It has to be mentioned that these roles are not chosen only if needed or if somebody is stepping down or if a replacement is needed.

2. FAQ about Hunt tokens

Q: What can I do when I claim these tokens?"

• To make it clear, you can’t do anything with it in the moment
• It is planned for the very near future to activate the tokens based on Ethereum’s ERC-20. At that moment it would be possible to transfer your tokens to an external private wallet like Myetherwallet. Also, P2P trades could start.

Q: Is it planned to list Hunt tokens on an exchange?

• Sure, but the team is not planning to rush the tokens to any exchange just to list it. Steemhunt is more concentrated to build the product and community. When both are strong enough, the exchanges will come to Steemhunt for a listing.
• Additionally, SMT is planned for March 2019. As soon as SMT is launched, Hunt tokens will be swapped into SMT. The best part with SMT is, a DEX (decentralized exchange) will launch with SMT so that Hunt tokens will be tradeable very easily on the DEX into STEEM and SBD.

Q: Is there any plan to use Hunt tokens except trading?

* With the launch of SMT, Steemhunt will also launch Ideahunt, a crowdfunding platform for brands and makers, where hunters can buy the newest products with hunt tokens. This will create an own Hunt token economy, so we are good to go with our claimed Hunt tokens. :)

This time we are going to learn about the airdrop Steemhunt is currently planning, as this will be one of the biggest airdrops available at Steemit.

1. What is a Hunt Token?

Hunt Token is going to be a Smart Media Token (SMT) based Token, which means that it will be build based on the Whitepaper from Ned back in Sep 2017. It is going to be a decentralised token system to reward product influencers, buy kickstarted products and help makers and brands to reach out product influencers on the Steemhunt.com platform.

At Steemhunt the HUNT Tokens can be earned being actively writing product reviews and on the other side there is are separate categories where makers can earn HUNT Tokens kickstarting projects (Ideahunt) and also can spend HUNT Tokens to recruite product reviewer (Reviewhunt)

Steemhunt is going to issue 500M HUNT Tokens and 50% of them are going to be airdropped. Yes, you read it right, 50%, in total 250M HUNT Tokens are going to be distributed.

3. Give me HUNT Tokens! But how?

There are in total 5 different ways to gain HUNT Tokens from the Airdrop for FREE! (20% of the volume are going to be into the private sale sector, so will not count them here!)

• Get it if you have Steem Power (beg. July 2018)
• Get it if you delegate Steem Power (available NOW)
• Get it if you collect Referrals (end July 2018)
• Get it if you Vote and resteem articles (beg. June 2018)
• Get if if you Hunt products and review them (end July 2018)

So let`s get into it step by step. Be informed that most of the Airdrop schedules are still not prepared and we are going to wait for announcements from Steemhunt.

**a.Have Steem Power**

Easy one. Just have a look if you have any Steem Power. (If not, you can buy some or just start writing good content or even better start steemhunting!) You can find it under https://steemit.com/@YOURNAMEHERE/transfers. If you have delegated some of your Steem Power, don`t worry. Steemhunt will count the original available Steempower. After that join Steemhunt.com at wait for their announcement. (Following @steemhunt will make it easier) Steemhunt is going to add a menu where you can APPLY for HUNT Tokens. It is very important that you ACTIVELY APPLY for HUNT Tokens at Steemhunt, so the best is to go to Steemhunt.com and just join the service for now. You need to have an active Steemit account. HUNT Tokens are going to be airdropped 1:1 to your Steem Power, based on "First Come First Serve", but Steemhunt has prepared about 100M, so there is a plenty of HUNT Tokens for almost everybody.

How much do I get?

• exactly the same amount of your Steem Power you own is going to be airdropped.

**b.Delegate Steem Power**

This is the only Airdrop you can already join right now. For that you have to delegate your Steem Power to @steemhunt.

How much do I get?
This is difficult to say. Steemhunt has reserved a daily amount of 90K for all delegated Steem Power (They have actually have over 330K Steempower in this moment) You will get a daily amount of HUNT Tokens based on your Ratio you have delegated. On the last report this was about 190 HUNT Tokens for 100SP delegated. My guess is this will drop quite fast, as more people will join the Steemhunt community and are going to delegate SP to them. But the sooner the better, as the drops are planned for about 500 days, until the SMT will be ready. (Don`t think it will take that long, as Ned has announced it already for 2018)

**c.Collect Referrals**

An often seen marketing method to engage users and give them benefits. The referral system is still under development. In total 90K Tokens are reserved per day and will be distributed to people who refer Steemhunt to others. So sign up for steemhunt.com, wait until the development for the referral system is done and get your referral link and spread the goods news! Max cap is 5000 per Person.

How much do I get?
Important here is to be fast, as the days past on more and more people will have referrals and the total assigned tokens of 90K pcs. will shrink per day. Calculation is based on 90,000 Tokens assigned by 1/n (referrals)
If there are 90,000 referrals collected, you will get 1 HUNT Token per day.

**d.Vote and resteem**

In total 60K Tokens per day will be distributed for Steemhunters who are upvoting or resteeming hunters posts located under the **"TODAY"** tap. Important is, only the TODAY Tab will be counted. 40K are for upvoters and 20K for resteemers. Airdrop starts when the wallet interface is ready.

How much do I get?
If at that day 2000 people are resteeming hunters post, you will get 10 HUNT tokens. If 2000 people are upvoting hunters posts from the Today tab, you will get 20 HUNT tokens and so on. Important is also that these activities have to be done AT steemhunt.com and not steemit.com.

**e.Hunt products and review them**

If you have been succesfully upvoted from @steemhunt you will be 60,000TOKENS/n of the daily airdrop. In total steemhunt upvotes the post itself, a review comment (pros and cons comments) and moderator comments. Additionally the voting power from steemhunt is also important how much of the distributed Tokens you will get.

How much do I get?
This is going to be really difficult to give an exact amount, as it depends on the voting power of steemhunt (which also depends on how your post is ranked, etc.). At the current moment the daily total VP pool is about 1080%, so if you get a voting with 20% this will be about 880 HUNT TOKENS. So this means writing good steemhunter contents is essential!

4. Conclusion

HUNT Tokens are going to create an own economy based on the Steemit.com community. All kind of rewards are going to be paid later on as HUNT Tokens and seeing producthunt.com growing even under that kind of circumstances (not reawarding the actual hunters), I strongly believe that Steemhunt can replace this, as soon as enough people are getting used to this kind of system. As there is no max supply for HUNT, there WILL be an inflation which has been vital as example also for the Steem community.

Be informed that the SMT from steemit is also still under development and that therefore the steemhunt team has decided to start as Ethereum ERC20 Token and then swap them afterwords when the SMT network is ready.
