[Coinnews] 가상화폐 기타소득세에 대하여

손키님의 포스팅을 접하면서 아무래도 암호화폐에 대한 소득세 부분이 논의되고 있는것으로 짐작할 수 있었습니다.

관련 기사를 찾아서 정리를 해드립니다.

  • 우선 결정된 것은 없습니다. 발표가 나고 법이 재정되면 그때가서 확실해집니다.
  • 하지만 방향성은 기타소득세로 기울고 있다는 분석입니다.
  • 가상화폐 검토 조직이 재산세제과에서 소득세제과로 변경되었음.

실제로 가상화폐에 대한 과세를 기타소득으로 분리할때에는 양도세와는 다르게 최종 거래 금액을 기준으로 필요 경비를 제외하고 과세하게 된다. 국내 비거주 외국인의 경우에는 이미 가상화폐 소득의 경우는 거래소에서 원천징수격으로 기타소득으로 분류해 거둬들이고 있는 것도 한 몫을 합니다.

하지만 정부에서도 그냥 기타소득으로 분류해서 내국인에 대한 세금을 쉽게 지정하지는 못할 것으로 생각됩니다. 물론 양도소득세로 분류할 경우 복잡한 과세 과정을 피할 수 있는 장점이 분명히 있습니다.

현재 소득법은 기타소득세의 경우는 20%의 세율로 복권이나 강연료와 같은 구간으로 만들어 놓고 일반적인 경우 기타 소득의 50%는 필요 경비로 공제하고 나머지 40%에 대해서 20%의 세율로 소득세가 부과되는 방식입니다. 하지만 암호화폐 거래의 특징상 같은 형태로 진행이 될지는 두고봐야 할 것으로 보입니다.

여기서 문제가 되는 것은 양도소득세의 경우는 취득가, 기준가및 양도가에 대한 고려가 되어 있지만 기타소득세의 경우는 양도시점에서 세금이 측정된다는 문제가 있습니다. 즉, 다음과 같은 두가지 경우가 발생합니다.

  • 1억 투자해서 코인이 1억 2천으로 뜁니다. 거래소에서 빼는 순간 1.2억 x 40% x 20% = 세금 960만원이 발생합니다. 순이익은 1040만원으로 이익은 10.4%입니다.
  • 1억 투자해서 코인이 5천만원으로 내려갑니다. 손절을 위해서 거래소에 빼는 순간 5천 x 40% x 20% = 세금 400만원이 추가적으로 발생합니다. 즉 총 손실액은 5천만원이 아닌 5400만원이 됩니다.

손실때도 세금이 발생하는 문제가 있으나 정부 입장에서는 거래소에서 원청 징수와 같은 형태로 처리를 할 수 도 있을 것으로 보입니다. 다만 일개 거래소가 내국인의 원천징수를 해도 되는 자격이 있는지에 대한 논란도 있습니다.

두번째 문제는 거래소 출금 시점으로 볼것이냐, 매 거래시마다 일어나는 형태를 추적할 것인가 입니다. 즉, 최악의 경우는 심지어 거래때 마다 세금을 추징하는 것입니다. 이때는 잦은 거래는 자산을 빠른 속도로 줄일 수 있는 지름길이 될 수 도 있습니다.

세번째는 거래소와 일반 P2P를 위한 이동의 경우도 기타소득으로 봐야 하는지에 대한 문제입니다. 즉, 예를 들어서 스팀을 거래소로 보내서 보관해두었다가 다시 스팀계정으로 보냈을때도 가격변동이나 거래 수량에 대한 변경 없이도 소득 이익으로 보고 기타소득세를 징수할 것인가에 대한 문제입니다.

개인적인 생각

우선 어떤 종류가 되었던 세금이 걷히게 될것은 분명합니다. 기본적인 한국 정부의 입장은 지금까지의 행보를 봤을 때는 중국과 비슷하다는 생각이 들 때도 많습니다. 블록체인은 양성화하되, 암호화폐는 투기로 근절을 시키고자 하는 방향입니다. 하지만 그렇게 하기 위해서는 하다못해 중국 처럼 국력을 이용해서 자체적인 솔류션을 밀고 나갈 의지라도 있어야 하나, 현재로는 예상되는 바는 암호화폐에 대한 제재가 주력이 될 것으로 생각됩니다.

이번 China Finance 40 Forum 중국 정부는 5년의 개발기간을 거친 블록체인 설계의 프로토타입이 완성되었다고 합니다.

1. 중국 정부의 가상화폐

이 시스템은 Tier를 2개를 거친 시스템입니다. 이유로는 중국과 같은 규모의 나라가 가상화폐를 쓰고자 하는 블록체인의 경우는 1 티어로는 감당이 되지 않을것이기 때문이라고 합니다. 이때 2 티어의 구성은 다음과 같습니다.

  • Upper Level : PBoC가 주최가 되는 (중국 중앙은행)
  • Second Level: 일반 시중 은행

현재 이 의미가 기술적으로 Tier가 나뉘었는지 아니면 사용 형식상 나눴는지는 확실하게 나와있지는 않습니다. 그러나 큰 그림으로 봤을때는 아마도 현재 일반 화폐의 중앙은행 개념처럼, 블록체인 1Tier의 경우 (중국 중앙은행)은 해당 블록체인 화폐의 발권력을 컨트롤을 하고, Tier2의 일반 중국의 시중 은행 (이나 외국은행도 참여 가능성이 있음) 이 발권된 가상화폐로 거래를 할 수있도록 세팅되어졌을 것으로 예상됩니다.

이번 중국 중앙은행의 가상화폐는 많은 사람들이 이용하는 소규모 리테일에 최적화되어 있어서, 소액결제가 빠르게 가능하도록 설계가 되었을 것으로 예상됩니다.

2. 페북 리브라와의 차이점

페북의 리브라는 현재 미국을 비롯한 각 국가의 역풍을 맞으면서 스테이블 코인을 세팅하는데 어려움이 있는 상황입니다. 개인적으로 정말로 블록체인 개발을 위해 중국과 같은 자본과 인력을 움직이는 나라에서 5년씩이나 개발을 했을까 하는 의구점이 들지만, 기술적으로는 충분히 실용가능성이 있는 제품이 나왔을 확률이 높을것으로 보입니다.

또한 중앙화된 국가가 받혀주는 블록체인과 가상화폐의 경우는 엄청난 내수시장을 바탕으로 빠르게 중국내에서 확산이 가능할 것으로 보입니다.

이를 바탕으로 과연 이 통화가 리브라를 대체를 할 수 있겠느냐를 고민해보면, 현재의 위안화와 비슷한 처지에 있습니다. 결국은 화폐의 가치는 기준 자체는 운영주체의 신뢰에서 오기 마련인데, 어차피 중국 중앙은행의 컨트롤하에 있는 가상화폐의 경우는 위안화와 크게 다를 것은 없을 것으로 보입니다. 또한 현재는 스테이블 코인으로 세팅이 되어야 겠지만, 페북처럼 자산가치를 바탕으로 하는 설계일지, 단순히 중국 중앙은행의 신뢰를 바탕으로 스테이블화를 이룰지도 관건이 될 것으로 보입니다.

3. 개인적인 생각

확실히 리브라 프로젝트가 주춤거리는 사이를 치고 들어가는 모습이 보이는 것은 확실합니다. 우선 정부 차원의 지원하에 치고 나가는 블록체인 프로젝트중 가장 자본의 화력을 뒷받침해줄 수 있는 국가 프로젝트이기 때문에 눈여겨 봐야할것으로 보이긴 합니다.

다만, 내수 경제사용으로 끝나게될 수단일지 (널리 사용되고 있는 Wechat Pay와 비슷하게) 아니면 암호화폐중 세계의 한 자리를 차지하게 될지는 지켜봐야할 것으로 보입니다.

[스캠주의보] Plustoken 4억 USD의 (46조원) 자산 들고 잠적?

아침의 암호화폐 뉴스를 보다가 독일쪽 뉴스에 한국과 스캠이라는 단어가 보여서 자세히 들여다봤는데, 어마무시한 스캠을 하고 현재 잠적 예상된 프로젝트가 있네요.

다름이 아니라 플러스토큰 지갑이라는 프로젝트입니다.

자료들이 제대로 정리되어 있는 곳은 마땅하지 않아 여기저기 흩어져있는 정보를 모아서 전달드립니다.

1. 플러스토큰 지갑 설명

전형적인 폰지 형태로 단순하게 모바일 지갑을 제공해주고, 지갑에 보관만 해도 월 8-12%의 이자를 주는 형태였습니다. 이자 지급이 가능한 이유는 지갑에 있는 자산으로 AI 봇이 자체거래를 해서 차익을 남기는 방식이라고 합니다.
(이미 여기서 스캠이다~!!! 가 절로 나오긴 합니다)

2. 공격적인 마케팅

중국계 프로젝트로 구글과 삼성의 엔지니어가 있다고 광고를 하면서 중국 프로젝트이지만, 한국프로젝트인것 처럼 비춰졌습니다. 실제 독일의 언론들을 보면 한국 프로젝트라고 소개가 되고 있습니다.

하지만 몇일전 바누아투 공화국(Republic of Vanuatu)에서 창립멤버인 것으로 추정되는 중국인 6명이 체포되면서 이 프로젝트는 한국계라는 프레임을 걸고 끝까지 스캠을 펼진것으로 느껴지긴 합니다.

추가적으로 피해가 컸던 것은, 다단계 프로그램들이 많이 이용하는 공격적인 마케팅입니다. 어마무시한 어필리에이트 프로그램을 지원하면서 10단계 다단계를 내세우면서 전세계적으로 마케팅을 했습니다.

실제 인터넷을 찾아보니 유럽, 한국외에 많은 소셜 미디어에서 플러스토큰에 대한 광고를 유저들이 공격적으로 하고 있는것을 볼 수 있습니다.

또한 3-4월중에는 유럽에 순회”공연”을 다니면서 투자자들을 모아서 독일어권에서도 수많은 피해자를 만들어냈습니다.

3. 현재 상태

현재는, 예상하시는 바와 같이, 암호화폐 입금만 되고 출금은 되지 않은 상황입니다. 각 소셜미디어와 홍보채팅을 하던 채널들도 이제는 응답이 없거나 봇이 응답을 한다고 합니다. 2틀전 뉴스로는 한국의 플러스토큰 커뮤니티 대표는 스캐이라는 사실에 반박하고 있으며 온라인 지갑에서 오프라인 지갑으로 이동하는 과정에서 일시적인 현상이라고 합니다만, 28일부터 출금이 안되고 있는 상황은 이미 10일 가까지 진행되고 있다는 것은 사실이고, 심지어 현재 홈페이지에서 보이는 양상도 중요 정보는 다 내린 상황입니다.

운영팀및 팀 멤버의 페북이나 링크드인링크도 다 죽어있는 상황입니다.

4. 개인적인 생각

플러스토큰에 대해 이번 뉴스를 통해 처음으로 들었는데, 교묘하게 심리와 마케팅을 자극한 전략이였던 것으로 생각됩니다. 우선 ‘암호화폐 지갑’ 에 입금만 하면 된다는 말이, “암호화폐 지갑은 안전해, 그리고 내가 컨트롤해”라는 인식이 있을 수 있는데, 지갑을 만든 업체가 결국 폰지이고, 지갑안에 있는 자산을 가지고 불려주겠다는 것은 이미 그 자산에 대한 컨트롤이 된다는 이야기임을 초보 투자자분들은 알고도 무시했던 듯 합니다.

또한 사람 3명만 있으면 없는 호랑이도 만들어낸다는 말처럼, SNS에 수없이 보이는 플러스토큰에 대한 공격적인 마케팅이 결국 Affiliate를 다단계로 받기 위해 새로운 “고객”을 유치하는 것인지도 모르고 “수익 인증”과 같은 단순한 수단으로 다단계 홍보가 되었던 것으로 보입니다.

한국, 유럽을 거쳐 전세계적으로 크게 한판 하고 4백억 USD 가치의 암호화폐를 컨트롤 하고 있는 프로젝트가 잠적하고 나서 그에 따른 피해자분들 원화로는 46조원의 자산이 증발한 상태입니다. 이것은 이전 7조원대의 사기를 벌인 조희팔이 7만명을 가입시켜 먹튀한 건보다 6배 이상의 규모입니다.

결국 스캠은 그 규모가 아무리 커도 결국 스캠으로 끝난다는 쓰라린 현실을 보여준 건이라고 보이며, 주변에는 피해자분들이 없기를 빌어봅니다.

[Steemhunt] Hunt Token Data and the economy

HUNT tokens are now available on the Daybit exchange for about 2 month and it seems that the current price is stabilizing between 0.0075 and 0.01USD with a slow increasing in price.

Based on the fact that the token is now out in the wild, it seems there is also an interest from investors and the community to have a better overview about some facts of the token.

1. Overview of numbers for HUNT tokens.

It was planned to use 50% of Hunt tokens for the ecosystem and community building. The overview is as below.

Total volume is 500Million Hunt tokens.

  • Ecosystem and community building 50% - 250 Million Hunt tokens.
  • Reserve for future business development 20% - 100 Million Hunt tokens.
  • Team members (2 year vesting) 10% - 50 Million Hunt tokens
  • Token sales via IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) 10% - 50 Million Hunt tokens
  • 2nd round funding 10% - 50 Million Hunt tokens

So, let’s get into the details of how much tokens are now in the wild.

a. Ecosystem and community building - total possible 250 Million Hunt tokens

We have as of today (14th June 2019) in total 82,013,809 Hunt tokens distributed, which is 32.81% of the original planned Qty. The distribution speed has been dramatically slowed down after the listing of Hunt tokens, as the distribution system has been changed from a fixed pool of tokens to a market related ROI model. As an example with a 10K SP fully upvoting at Steemhunt 10 times, you were able to get an average over 1000 Hunt tokens in the beginning of the year as you would get it distributed based on the voting % of a fixed pool of 40K Hunt tokens per day.

In the moment upvotes at Steemhunt are coupled with an ROI per annum. A 4$STU upvote would get a result of about 46 HUNT tokens as reward which would be about 0.43USD. It is about 10% additionally you are able to get on top of your 25% curation reward. If we assume that there is no change in any price (Steem, Hunt, SBD, USD) and we would upvote 4$ STU per day at Steemhunt, we would have a SP+SBD curation reward of 365USD(Curation) + 156USD(Hunt Tokens) = 521USD. If you are anyhow curating on Steem, direct curation on Steemhunt would definitely increase your reward on a daily base.

But getting back to the total 82Million Hunt tokens distributed to the community. Especially from investors that have invested into the IEO of Hunt tokens, this community build Hunt tokens could be a thread to the price of the hunt token, as if all the Qty would be getting into the market, the price would collapse immediately.

Based on the information that the team has made accessible on different communication channels I would like to review these numbers.

  • 82Million Hunt tokens distributed for community building.
  • about 50Million Hunt tokens are unlocked (from the 13weeks lock directly after the listing of Hunt tokens)
  • about 8.4 Million (16.8% of the unlocked Qty) are moved to an external Wallet and 4.4 Million of them moved to an exchange or other external wallet. (A registered ETH wallet hooked to Steemhunt is still counted as staked Hunt)
  • This means that only 5.3% of the total distributed Hunt token Qty. is in the moment available for trading on the market.

We can see that the support of the community is strong and the major Qty. of Hunt tokens are still staked on most of the wallets of Steemhunt users.

There are still about 167 Million tokens left that can be used to build the community, but the team already informed that when the swap to SMT is going to happen and POB and a proper inflation pool is working, that the left over Hunt tokens are going to be burned from the community building pool.

b. Reserve for future business development - 100 Million Hunt tokens

These Qty. are mainly for further business development opportunities and we will see official announcements when this kind of Qty. are going to be used.

c. Team member (2years vesting)

The vesting for team members started at the 15th of April 2019 and it is not yet decided how the payment schedule will look like, so there are in the moment no tokens distributed from this vesting at all.

d. Token sales via IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) - 50 Million Hunt tokens

There have been IEO's on three different exchanges, including Daybit, where the Hunt tokens have been listed. Except the second IEO on Probit, all other offerings had been sold out.

Including the bonus Qty. that distributed, about 34 Million Hunt tokens have been sold during the IEO. (30 Million in sales and about 4 Million for bonus) Bonus Hunt tokens from the IEO had different lockup timings from 30-90 days.

Based on this information we can come to a conclusion that even if all the bonus Qty had been released, that we have in the moment about 35-43 Million Hunt tokens in circulation.

I personally think that the liquidity will increase with the launching of further exchanges and the start of Reviewhunt.

e. 2nd round funding - 50 Million Hunt tokens

The team is in the moment concentrating on bringing Reviewhunt into the market and after that Ideahunt to be able to finalize the Hunt token economy.

2. Next Steps

The team is in the moment gathered together in Korea and in Crunch mode to increase the speed of development of Reviewhunt. Their main focus is to bring the product as fast as possible into the market and get influencers and makers on board. An important part for Reviewhunt is that Makers will be able to use FIAT for their marketing activities on Reviewhunt and that these marketing activies can lead to direct need on the Hunt token economy. As this kind of process has never been done before the team is working hard to realize this important step. The launch of Reviewhunt is planned for July 2019.

Additionally, the negotiations with exchanges are still ongoing. The listing audit for Hunt tokens are partly finished for some of the exchanges, but there are still strategic priorities and internal issues within the exchanges to clear to get a final listing day. The team is going to decide and move forward based on the biggest synergy effect for Reviewhunt. The target is still to get a final decision from the exchanges within June, which would result in a listing after the decision made.

[Steemhunt] HUNT token economy

Now that we are moving forward with the preparation of Reviewhunt, it got me thinking about the three different pillars Steemhunt is planning to finalize the HUNT economy. First, we have @steemhunt, where all posts are also directly posted to the Steem blockchain and where the upvoting mechanism is still directly influenced by Steem, but the community controlled and watched by itself under a different set of rules, pushed and informed by Steemhunt.

After @steem-engine published their SCOT service, Steemians now have a chance to understand based on a separated condensor how it would feel when SMT would be live. Steemhunt is, if you look into it in detail, already offering a hybrid SMT version, because you always have the possibility to choose “BOOST” hunt instead of Steem rewards.

1. First pillar - Steemhunt

Steemhunt itself is a community based project, where the community compete and encourage each other in a specific niche. This niche is for new and cool gadgets and software projects including a ranking board where community members, called Hunters, can upvote posts and push them up in the ranking. The Hunters are rewarded for being active or hunting a good product and getting a high rank.

An important part here is that you can devide the users into active Hunters, who are participating directly on the platform and visitors who found the platform either through a search engine or social media. Both kind of users are essential and also vital for the platform, as you need exposure outside the internal community to be visible.

During the IEO time Steemhunt had a MAU of over 400K, which shows the potential these kind of platforms can achieve.

2. Second pillar - Reviewhunt

Reviewhunt is planned for July 2019 and the Pre-Signup for influencers and companies already started to sign up in bigger numbers. If we have a look into the current status we can see especially from the company sides we have already 63 companies with a monthly estimated budget of 574K USD in marketing

The reason why Reviewhunt is so important for the HUNT economy is, that you will need a working for every token economy a working business model, as otherwise you will not be able to hold the value of your token, nor increase the value of it.

We will have to distinguish between a Security Token and Utility token here, as for a Security token, you will have always kind of a value behind the token already stored. A utility token is somehow starting to gain the value based on the service you can use with the token, which means that at some point you will need to be able to either change the utility token into a product(or service) or exchange it to another currency (normal exchange business). Most tokens and coins does have only the second part available (changing the token into another currency) and keeping the value with constant developing of their main product (or not) or spreading news about it. An easy rule for this is, as long you don’t have a product you can buy with your tokens is,

  • If more people are wanting and buying your token than selling the value of your token will rise.

By the way, same with Steem. When there is no business model to keep at least a specific level of the Steem inflation stable and there are more users selling their Steem instead of staking it, the Steem price will fall. Stabilization of the Steem inflation rate would mean that, as example, Steemit Inc. would use part of the their income (ad, consulting, etc.) to buyback Steem.

Reviewhunt is exactly architected for that reason. It is accelerating the community behind Steemhunt and gathering them. Based on it, the influencers are funneled at Reviewhunt where companies can reach them easily at one place and very effectively. The IT Geek influencer “agency” Reviewhunt is getting “jobs” on board for influencers and the bigger and targeted group of influencers is getting companies into the economy to spend fiat, which is directly used to stabilize the HUNT token economy.

If the start would only mean just 10% of the registered companies would start a bounty, it would be still 50K USD that would be directly injected into the HUNT ecosystem. And based on success stories it would attract even more companies, as they could get a great marketing campaign based on a reasonable budget.

3. Third pillar - Ideahunt

The final pillar is Ideahunt, where we are adding ecommerce and targeted crowd funding. It is closing the economy, as the hunters have now also a way except selling the HUNT tokens on an exchange. It is important for a utility token that it has a final function of “buying” a product or service. Different kind of models can be adapted here, as it could be also possible to burn part of the HUNT tokens that are coming from the % service fee that Ideahunt would ask from the makers. Or these tokens could be used to push the product with affiliate marketing.

There are no limits if you have a finalized the token economy and have an incoming stream of FIAT and products that can consume tokens.

4. Personal thoughts.

As community manager of Steemhunt I am also taking care of the communication that is happening on different chat channels or social media channels. I do often see the comment that the price of HUNT tokens have been down since the listing, but for a rather new token on an exchange with in the moment not that much volume, I think it is quite normal. As hunters also have now the possibility to sell their tokens from bounties, this will still continue for a while. To backup this token economy Steemhunt is going to need Reviewhunt and that is the main reason that the whole team is currently concentrating on bringing Reviewhunt live on the one hand and also to launch HUNT on another exchange to be able to increase the volume.

As a HUNT token holder I am personally seeing Steemhunt rather as an traditional Startup than as a typical Blockchain based token project. And if we see it from the financing side, there had been only an investment (IEO) under 1 Mil. USD, which makes it at a a very early stage. Therefore in long terms I believe and a lot of HUNT holders also, that this project will be able to finalize their pillars and be able to sell their product (Reviewhunt, Ideahunt) to the market.

[Steemhunt] Marketcap and numbers about Hunt token

HUNT tokens are now listed since 15th of April 2019. Let’s have a look at a few numbers around the listing.

We are now based on a price level of 0.016USD and a daily volume of about 1,29 Million USD. Hunt tokens are now the most traded token on Daybit. This is coming together with a lot of marketing events from Daybit to get investors involved with Hunt tokens like trader airdrops and Net-purchase events.

It started around 4 days ago that the trading volume reached the 1 Milllion USD level, which means that we have around 5 Mil. USD traded with Hunt tokens in the last four days alone.

If we compare it with Steem as currency, the total volume for the last 24 hours was around 900K USD. This means that on lower days that HUNT tokens are more traded at the moment than Steem is.

The market cap data on @coingecko is now updated based on an available supply of about 60 Million Hunt tokens. This is giving a market cap volume of about 1 Million USD.

The interesting part is, that the trading volume is in the moment even higher than the circulating available supply, which would mean that investors are both selling and buying their Hunt tokens in massive numbers.

There are two different sources where the Hunt tokens can come from. The bounty pool, which is steadily growing and at the moment at a level of about 80 Million Hunt tokens. Then there is the investor’s pool from three IEO, where the target sales amount was 50 Million Hunt tokens. But not all 50 Million Hunt tokens were offered in these three IEO rounds.

The bounty pool at the off-chain wallet at Steemhunt.com does have a daily withdraw limit of 10K Hunts and for the first 91 days an additional daily limit of 1/91 of the total Hunt token amount, which would limit the available Hunt tokens to a max of 60 Million Hunt tokens at the moment.

If you see the data, we see that we see that we had an increase of tokens into the economy on the 26th of March. This was the day when the presale Qty. was released. Despite the wish that it would stabilize the price, JJM is still increasing from the presale price of 0.01Steem to now up to 0.088Steem per JJM. We have now slowed down a bit but continued the pace of increasing holders. The price is still increasing and the latest update from https://steem-engine.com/ shows that the last bid for JJM was at 0.091 STEEM which is an increase of about 3.2% compared to the day before.

The daily overview of the DEX https://steem-engine.com/ is showing JJM as the highest volume in the last 24 hours followed by STEEMSC. Also, Steemmonsters BETA PACK tokens are moving on a daily base, but with a relatively low volume. Hopefully, this can change when the JJM tournaments are starting and more tournament cash is flowing.

After https://steem-engine.com/ has started it is now a matter of 100 Steem and a few clicks to create your own token based on a side chain of Steem. There are several advantages and contras using https://steem-engine.com, but it seems that especially for some users the easy access to create tokens with Steem brought some interesting projects out of it. Now several projects would be interesting to mention and introduce to a wider audience (as they are currently targeted mainly for a specific group), but this time it would be the JJM token. (mainly publishing articles in Korean under @jjm13)

1. History and explanation of JJM

a. About the Coin

b. Background of founder

@virus707 is a well known and respected user within the #KR community. Educating the KR community about different tokens and coins, virus707 also created the Korean tag “Jjangjjangman”, which supported new KR Steemians with an upvote (from his personal Steem Power of about 200K SP) without any special conditions, except that it was own content in Korean from a KR community member. The tag was running until March 2019 and has now been stopped, as @virus707 needed the Steempower to run the JJM token.

After the 26th of March 2019, in total 434K Steem Power will be available to run the JJM project. The Steem Power available is not delegated (only 1K Steem Power from another account) but owned and bought by virus707 for this project.

On an interview last year (in Korean), virus707 mentioned already that there was an SMT project planned, as soon it would be available, but it seems that virus707 decided to move on with Steem-engine, as it is available right now.

e. JJM token economy

About 98% of the JJM token economy and how it will be pushed into the right direction are still open and “TBD” with the JJM token holders. A few points that are already in progress (or had been processed) are summarized below. To make it easy to understand, it is kind of a fund, that invests and works with other Steem based projects to create value and dividends for the JJM token holders.

  • Dividends: based on the portion (%) of JJM the account @jjm13 is gathering the dividend amount. The dividend amount is coming from the @virus707 account. In general, all kind of incomes for the virus707 account is included for dividends excluding a currently not fixed amount as profit for the JJM token issuer, which can also be used to power up the virus707 account with Steem power.
  • The account @virus707 is invested per delegation or direct token investment in @magic-dice, @stablewon and is looking for additional cooperations that could increase the usability of Steem and Steem based Dapps and also the income for JJM.
  • The total amount of the current dividends level can be checked under https://steemit.com/@jjm13/transfers
  • The timing of transferring the dividends to JJM holders is not based on a specific cycle and will be announced very shortly before it happens to avoid an unneeded market pump of JJM tokens.
  • A part of the income (dividends) will be used to buy JJM tokens on the market and these JJM tokens can be also used as dividends.

Future plans

There are different strategies under discussion and I would like to list a few of them that could be realized.

  • Rebirth of JJM tag: when using the JJM tag a JJM token holder can get voting from the virus707 account. Voting power would/could match to the % of holding JJM tokens.
  • Starting a JJM @steemmonsters tournament with JJM tokens not only for the winners but also for the analyst of the tournament (ex. analyzing the players, their strategy, etc.) and running an additional JJM bounty for watchers of the tournament who can guess the winner. This would make a Steemmonsters tournament much more interesting, not only for the players but also for people watching the tournament. (First step into esports) - related article in Korean from virus707 Additionally, it would help also to lower the entry barrier for Steemmonsters.
  • Co-working with Dapps based on gaming, service, etc.

2. Personal thoughts

In the end, a currency is always based on trust. It is really interesting to see a new token evolving that is actually only based on trust. Current JJM holders are giving trust into a still uncertain project, seeing only the founder and project head @virus707. Based on the vision from virus707, international investors are also welcomed to this project
A few points as data.

  • @virus707 SP: about 440K, an 100% upvote would be about 11.2STU at the moment.
  • If virus707 would buy with the whole curation income (which would be about 192STU $/week) JJM tokens, that would be about 7.7K JJM per week based on the current market price theoretically available for dividends.
  • virus707 is looking for a developer who can help to implement different visions that would need to be realized for JJM.

TL;DR JJM is a token purely based on the trust of a single user, that @virus707 will be able to make a working token economy.

So, JJM is currently at state 0 and keeping one of the highest volumes at https://steem-engine.com/ with realistic order volumes. It will be very interesting to follow the path of JJM and see how the project lead and the JJM holders will interact and develop the token community.

A lot of ICO's have a huge board of Advisors to impress investors. Unfortunately, it is not sure that they actually "advise" or are only selling their name value and getting Tokens in return. Additionally, private sales are a mechanism to give investors access to tokens with huge discounts. Together, these groups are one of the risks to dumb their token when a token get listed on an exchange. As an example, at the beginning of [Tron](https://tron.network/), there was a [FUD alert](https://theripplecryptocurrency.com/tron-fud-alert/) because a single account sold 11.2 Billion Tron tokens. For Tron, it was at the end a market maker trying to increase the liquidity. Having big quantities distributed to investors who are looking for really fast profit is difficult to handle when trying to protect the value of your token.

For Steemhunt there are almost no tokens distributed for this kind of cases so it will have no direct effect on the token price.

2. Minimize the effect of Timing

ICO's tend to launch their tokens much later on an exchange then the actual date of ICO. It is also related to the fact that at the beginning a lot of projects didn't have a working product but only a whitepaper. Between this time the risk for the investors participating at an ICO (IEO) is getting higher, as the possibility for liquidity is limited. Also, it can (it had happened) that a project does not work out at all and a token does not get listed at an exchange nor shows a working product. Steemhunt's strategy is that their IEO is going to have a minimum delay (within a month) between the IEO and the listing at the first exchange.

3. Realistic Market Cap

Based on the IEO price of 0.02USD we have a current market cap of 10 million USD. This is due to the changing market situation in between of place 230-250 based on @coingecko and at place 250 based on coinmarketcap.com. On the other side, Steemhunt is ranked between place 9th~21th at [StateOfTheDapps](https://www.stateofthedapps.com/rankings), which gives it enough room to move itself up in market capitalization volume.

4. Higher bounty but also higher loyalty from hunters

As first mover Steemhunt decided to airdrop 50% of their tokens and use it as accelerator to increase their userbase. This has of course also a direct impact on the token distribution. But we have to look into details how this tokens have been distributed.

Compared to other projects, where it is mostly required to join a telegram channel or gathering enough referrals, Steemhunt concentrated to distribute the tokens to users who contributed to establish and build up the community. This is increasing the loyalty of Hunt token holders to Steemhunt.

  • Sponsors : Without sponsors there would be no rewarding directly possible until SMT had been implemented correctly. Most of the sponsors are highly interested in the success of Steemhunt as a project, not only for Steemhunt but also for Steem. This comes with the specific situation that a delegation of Steem brings to the Steemhunt environment, as successful Steem based projects will help to increase the value not only for the project but also for Steem.
  • SP Holders: This part was essential to increase the attention for Hunt tokens and also the number of holders. This airdrop has been completed already in the middle of last year.
  • Contributors (promotion and voting), Daily activity: reward for active users at Steemhunt
  • Social Shares: Social contributors getting the message on a daily base out to increase the userbase outside of Steem
  • Role contributors: community-based roles for daily operations.

With a total 13% of the Qty distributed at the moment, the bounty qty is indeed not small, but Steemhunt had also implemented a few measurements to protect the value for all Hunt token holders.

a. Abusing

All token holders who got their tokens with abusing methods have been canceled last October 2018. Also hunters who are blacklisted (due to different abusings) don’t get any tokens distributed.

b. Staking

To be able to further use Steemhunt and get rewarded it is crucial to have enough Hunt tokens kept in your current off-chain wallet. Based on your stake your User Score is directly effected. This means that if you have more Hunt tokens, it is better to keep them to have higher rewards and gain more Hunt tokens.

c. Withdraw limits

A lot of small token holders or a few whales could effect the market with dumps. To avoid these effects there is in the moment a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 10000 tokens per day withdraw limit from your off-chain Hunt wallet implemented. (Withdraw is not opened yet) As far as I am informed this can change based on the market situation.

In the end, the market will decide what the right price for a token is and nobody is able to predict a number. But we can see here, that Steemhunt has prepared a lot to avoid typical errors that could affect the value of their token in a negative way.

Steemhunt has announced that they are going to gradually decrease the airdropped tokens. Let’s dive into details.

1. Gradual Decreases in HUNT Token

In total 30% of the announced 50% airdrop has been distributed which sums up to 76 Million HUNT tokens in the hand of about 14K accounts. Coins based on Ethereum can be tracked how many different addresses are available and as an example, Zilliqa is distributed to 40K different addresses.

Initiated in May 2018 the airdrop is currently running for about 8 months and due to the estimated delay of SMT, projects based on SMT need to adjust their plans. The first plan was to run the airdrop for a maximum of a year but under the current circumstances Steemhunt has decided not to wait too long but start already part of implementations. The decrease of airdropped HUNT tokens is a vital portion of this plan.

  • Airdrops to Steem Power holders (1:1 airdrop, claim basis, closed with 3.63% distribution for 6,373 SP holders)
  • Token swaps for Steem delegations (90,000 tokens per day, 4.52% are distributed)
  • Voting contributors (50,000 tokens per day, 2.03% are distributed)
  • Role and promotion contributions, and daily activity participants (4.85% are distributed)

When we see the current airdrop distribution, delegation (sponsors) token swap had been the biggest part with 23 Million HUNT tokens distributed.

Steemhunt decided to reduce the total amount of daily distributed HUNT tokens by up to 30% per category and week. Theoretically, this could mean that the current daily airdrop of 50K HUNT tokens for voting contribution could change to 1K per day in about 12 weeks.

I personally don’t think that the airdrop amount will be reduced that dramatically, as Steemhunt has announced that they will adopt the ratio based on the HUNT token price per $STU, which should meet the target listing price.

a. Inflation Pool

As SMT is not going to start with the inflation function Steemhunt is going to reserve part of the airdrop volume to cover the inflation function for HUNT tokens.

we should maintain our buffers to use as an inflation pool with ERC20 tokens if the SMT launch is delayed too much.

b. Protection of value

A 50% airdrop was at the beginning of Steemhunt something totally new to the market and a new way to be able to finance the user growth without any ICO. On the other side, bigger amounts of airdrop volumes do have an impact on price when listing a coin, not on a DEX but a centralized exchange. As the announced IEO for HUNT tokens is coming closer, Steemhunt decided to reallocate the amount of HUNT airdrops (If SMT had been launched as planned it would have been different) to be able to protect the value of HUNT tokens and also the 14K HUNT token holders.

c. Marketing Fund

Reviewhunt is an important part to be able to create a revenue stream for Steemhunt. On the other hand, B2B Sales pitching for makers and brands will take time to flourish and in between it is needed that, as an example, Steemhunt steps in and create bounties for different projects. This would be similar to @steemmonsters, where currently a lot of tournaments are sponsored at the moment from Steemmonsters themselves. As soon as the user base and recognition of the service (or game in case of Steemmonsters) is big enough, review bounties would be covered from brands and makers. Steemhunt will need HUNT tokens for this kind of marketing activities.

3. Conclusion

As a project that bet on Steem and SMT as a base, it is not easy to adapt to delays that can not be estimated. The current decision to reallocate part of the HUNT tokens is the right move to be able to act if SMT is going to take much longer than estimated. Steemhunt is preparing a potential start of planned pillars (Reviewhunt and Ideahunt) without a proper working SMT and we should have a close eye on both the development of SMT and the adaptation from Steemhunt.
